Take your passport photo
Camera tips
- Follow the live guidance for centering, distance and head tilt.
- Use a plain, light-colored wall and even front lighting.
- Look directly at the camera with a neutral expression.
- Keep the entire head, both sides of the face and shoulders visible.
- Avoid glasses, harsh shadows and filters.
Make a 2×2 passport photo online
The 2×2 inch option creates a 600 × 600 pixel square passport photo and can also generate a 1200 × 1800 pixel 4×6 print sheet containing four identical copies. Use the framing guide and automated checks to help center the face, review head position, lighting and background, then download the finished JPEG.
Create a 35×45 mm passport or visa photo
Select the 35 × 45 mm format when your passport, visa or identity-document instructions call for that rectangular size. The editor lets you zoom and reposition the original photo without generating or reconstructing facial features. Always verify the exact current requirements for the country and document you are applying for.
Print passport photos on 4×6 paper
The print-sheet option creates a 4×6 JPEG designed for photo printing. Print the entire image at actual size or 100% and disable fit-to-page scaling, automatic cropping or zooming.
Private passport photo maker for iPhone and desktop
The camera, crop controls, automatic positioning, quality checks, background processing and JPEG generation run in the browser. There is no application server that receives the working passport photo.
Common passport photo questions
Can I make a passport photo from an iPhone?
Yes. Start the camera in Safari, follow the framing guidance, take the photo and adjust it in the browser. You can also choose an existing image from the phone.
Can this make the background white?
Yes. The optional white-background tool uses browser-side person segmentation and composites the existing foreground pixels over white. Inspect hair, ears, shoulders and clothing edges carefully.
Does this tool upload my passport photo?
The project does not include a photo-upload API or server-side image-processing service. The working photo is processed locally in the browser. Optional machine-learning code and model files are downloaded when those features are used.
Does the automated check guarantee passport acceptance?
No. Passport and visa rules vary, and the issuing authority makes the acceptance decision.
Privacy first: processing stays in your browser
Your passport photo is sensitive. Camera capture, framing feedback, automatic positioning, cropping, adjustments, automated checks, background processing, JPEG creation and print-sheet generation happen locally in your browser. Optional ML models are downloaded when needed, but your working photo is processed by the browser on your device.
